Egyptian mythology

Egyptian religion endured for over three thousand years, longer than almost any other tradition, and its myths were never fixed in a single canon: gods merged, split, and traded roles across dynasties (Ra alone fuses into Ra-Horakhty, Amun-Ra, Atum-Ra). At its heart is a single drama — ma’at, cosmic order, defended nightly against the chaos-serpent Apep — and an elaborate geography of the afterlife through which every soul, royal or common, had to pass judgment.
